Drill Wizard

The short version

Everything you enter stays on your phone. Drill Wizard has no account, no server, and no analytics. We do not collect, receive, sell, or share personal data. We cannot see your data, and neither can anyone else through us.

What the app stores, and where

Your profile (grade, years of service, pays, TSP and VA settings), your duty calendar, orders, bonuses, and any LES or muster results are stored only in the app's storage on your device. The App Store build also mirrors this data to the phone's native storage so it survives iOS clearing web storage. Nothing is transmitted to us.

Backups are files you create yourself with Download profile and save where you choose. They contain your data in plain form; treat them as you would any financial document.

The camera and your photos

The camera and photo library are used for one thing: reading a Leave and Earnings Statement or a muster email you choose to photograph or import. Reading happens on the device. The image is not uploaded, stored by us, or kept after it is read. The first time you use this feature the app downloads a small text-recognition component (about 3 MB) from a public content network; that download carries no information about you.

Face ID

If you turn on the app lock, unlocking uses your phone's own Face ID or passcode through iOS. The app never receives biometric data — it only learns whether the unlock succeeded.

The one thing the app fetches

Once a day, when opened, the app requests its current rate tables (pay tables, per diem, TSP share prices and the like) from a public file at ephemerislabs.github.io. That request contains no personal data and no identifier; it is the same request for every user. If the phone is offline, the app uses the tables it already has.

Third parties

No advertising, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs that collect data. The App Store's own installation and crash reporting are governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Children

Drill Wizard is for members of the U.S. Guard and Reserve and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes and contact
